Terms of use

Effective 1 October 2026. These terms govern access to Kleven’s editorial website. By reading the site, you agree to use it lawfully, respectfully, and without treating general information as personal medical advice. If you do not agree, please discontinue use. For example, continuing to browse past the homepage after reading this page is treated as acceptance, while a reader who disagrees with a specific clause should stop using the site rather than use it selectively. These terms apply to every page under the kleven domain, including article pages, policy pages, and the contact form, but they do not extend to a third-party site reached through an outbound link. We may offer the same terms in a translated summary for convenience, but the English version published here is the version that governs in the event of any discrepancy. These terms are intended to be read together with the privacy policy, cookie policy, and health disclaimer, which address related but distinct topics.

1. Editorial purpose

Kleven publishes educational explanations about wellness and vitality. Articles are not a diagnosis, prescription, treatment plan, or emergency service. A reader remains responsible for seeking qualified care when a personal concern requires assessment. For example, an article discussing sleep habits may describe general patterns associated with better rest, but it cannot account for a reader's specific medication schedule, shift-work pattern, or diagnosed sleep disorder. The editorial purpose of the site is to improve general health literacy and to help readers ask better questions during a consultation with a qualified professional, not to replace that consultation. Where an article references a study or guideline, it is presented as context for a broader conversation rather than as an instruction to follow without professional input. This educational framing applies consistently across every topic area, including nutrition, movement, hormones, sleep, stress, and relationships.

2. Appropriate use

You may read, link to, and print reasonable excerpts for personal or educational use with attribution. Do not misuse the site to transmit malware, scrape personal information, impersonate another person, or interfere with availability. Do not submit confidential clinical records through a general form. For example, quoting two or three sentences from an article in a university assignment with a link back to the original page is a reasonable use, while republishing an entire article on another website without permission is not. Automated scraping, bulk downloading, or using the site to train a separate commercial product without authorisation is also outside the scope of acceptable use. We may apply reasonable technical measures, such as rate limiting, to protect the site from excessive automated requests, and we may suspend access from an address that persistently breaches these terms. Readers who are unsure whether a planned use is acceptable are welcome to ask the editorial desk before proceeding.

3. Accuracy and change

We work to make content clear and current, but health knowledge and local guidance change. We may correct, update, suspend, or remove material without guaranteeing that every page is complete for every circumstance. Dates on articles indicate editorial context rather than a promise of continuing accuracy. For instance, an article published in 2026 referencing a particular nutritional guideline may need revision if that guideline is later updated by the issuing body, and we aim to correct such articles when we become aware of the change, though we cannot guarantee instant awareness of every external update. We may also retire an older article entirely if its underlying premise is no longer considered a useful or proportionate way to present the topic. A visible correction note is added when a change is material to a reader's understanding, while minor copy-editing or formatting adjustments are not separately logged. We encourage readers who notice outdated information to report it through contact.php so it can be reviewed promptly.

4. Health disclaimer

Natural practices can carry risks and may interact with medicines or conditions. Consult a qualified Indonesian healthcare professional before making significant changes. Seek urgent local medical assistance for severe or rapidly worsening symptoms. For example, an article discussing a herbal infusion traditionally used for relaxation may still be unsuitable for a reader taking blood-thinning medication, and only a pharmacist or physician reviewing the reader's actual prescriptions can identify that interaction. The same caution applies to movement routines for a reader recovering from surgery and to dietary suggestions for a reader managing diabetes or kidney disease. This disclaimer does not diminish or replace the detailed health disclaimer published separately at disclaimer.php, which should be read in full before acting on any wellness-related article. Where local Indonesian guidance differs from a source referenced in an article, local guidance and a local qualified professional should take precedence.

5. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, Kleven text, design, branding, and original editorial organisation belong to Kleven or its licensors. Permission requests should identify the material, intended audience, territory, duration, and whether the use is commercial. For example, a community health newsletter in Jakarta wishing to reprint a short excerpt with attribution would typically describe the circulation size, the intended readership, and whether the newsletter carries advertising. We assess each request individually and may grant a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence rather than an unrestricted right to reuse material indefinitely. Trademarks, logos, and the Kleven name may not be used to imply endorsement, partnership, or affiliation without separate written agreement. We retain the right to decline a permission request where the proposed context could mislead readers about the nature or source of the material.

6. Links

External links may help readers continue research but are not endorsements of every claim, product, or service on the destination site. Third-party terms and privacy notices apply when you leave Kleven. We welcome reports of broken or misleading links. For example, a citation linking to a public health ministry resource reflects our assessment that the source was credible at the time of publication, not an ongoing guarantee that the destination page will remain unchanged or available indefinitely. If a linked resource is later found to contain inaccurate or harmful content, we will remove or replace the link once this is reported or discovered during a routine review. We do not receive payment for ordinary editorial citations, and any sponsored or affiliate link is separately labelled as described in the advertising policy. Readers should treat any form, newsletter sign-up, or purchase on a third-party destination as governed entirely by that site's own terms.

7. User messages

You keep rights in material you send, but you grant Kleven permission to use it to respond, investigate corrections, and improve editorial work. Do not send material you are not entitled to share. We may remove abusive, unlawful, or irrelevant submissions. For example, if a reader's message points out a factual error in an article, we may use that message internally to verify and correct the article, while keeping the reader's contact details confidential rather than publishing them. We do not publish a reader's message, name, or likeness without first asking separately for specific permission to do so. A submission containing a threat, unlawful content, or material we cannot verify as the sender's own work may be deleted without a response. We retain discretion to decline to act on a submission that appears to be automated, spam, or unrelated to Kleven's editorial purpose.

8. Advertising

Any advertising or sponsored material will be labelled. Commercial relationships do not purchase editorial conclusions. Readers should evaluate products independently and consider advice from qualified professionals. For example, a label reading "sponsored feature" or "advertising" at the top of a page indicates that the placement was paid for, while the absence of such a label indicates ordinary independent editorial content. The full criteria for what Kleven will and will not accept from an advertiser are set out in the separate advertising policy at publicidad.php, which should be read alongside these terms. Acceptance of an advertisement is a commercial decision and does not amount to a factual claim by Kleven about the advertised product's safety or suitability. If a reader believes an advertisement breaches these standards, they may report it through contact.php for review.

9. Availability

We aim for dependable access but cannot promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device, or absence of technical errors. Scheduled maintenance, security events, and third-party outages may affect the service. For example, a hosting provider's routine infrastructure maintenance could make the site briefly unreachable, and such interruptions are not within Kleven's direct control even though we select providers with a track record of reliability. We do not promise that every feature will display identically on every browser version, screen size, or operating system, although we design pages to degrade gracefully where possible. We may temporarily restrict access during a security incident to protect readers and the integrity of the site, and we will restore normal access as soon as it is safe to do so. Planned extended maintenance will, where practical, be noted on the homepage in advance.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by Indonesian law, Kleven is not responsible for decisions made solely from general content or for third-party services. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits consumer rights that apply. For example, if a reader experiences a financial loss after acting entirely on a general article without seeking the professional guidance the article itself recommends, Kleven's responsibility for that outcome is limited because the article was clearly presented as general education rather than individual advice. We do not accept liability for the content, accuracy, or consequences of a third-party website reached through a link, nor for a service purchased from an advertiser. Where a limitation would be considered unreasonable or unenforceable under mandatory Indonesian consumer protection law, that mandatory law applies instead of the limitation described here. We encourage any reader who believes they have suffered harm connected to the site to contact us promptly so the matter can be reviewed.

11. Governing context

These terms are prepared for an Indonesian editorial service and are interpreted with regard to applicable Indonesian law. We prefer to resolve concerns through direct contact before formal proceedings. Contact details are listed on every footer. For example, a dispute about whether a submitted comment was handled fairly would first be raised with the editorial desk at the Jakarta address or phone number shown in the footer, giving Kleven a reasonable opportunity to respond before any other step is considered. We believe most concerns can be resolved through direct, good-faith conversation rather than formal proceedings, and we commit to responding to a properly addressed concern within a reasonable time. Where a matter cannot be resolved directly, it would be considered under the laws of Indonesia and, where applicable, before the competent courts of Jakarta. Nothing in this section prevents a reader from exercising a statutory right available under Indonesian consumer or data protection law.

12. Updates

These terms were updated on 1 October 2026 to clarify advertising disclosures and user messages. We may revise them as the site changes. Continued use after publication of an update indicates acceptance of the revised terms where legally effective. For example, the 1 October 2026 revision added clearer language about automated scraping and about how permission requests for reprinting material are assessed, building on the version first published on 1 March 2026. We will keep the previous effective date visible in this section's history so readers can see when a meaningful change occurred, rather than silently editing the terms without a trace. A future revision affecting liability, governing law, or user submissions will be announced with reasonable prominence on the homepage. Readers who disagree with a revised term should stop using the site rather than continue under the earlier version, which is no longer in force.

  • a) 1 March 2026 — initial terms published.
  • b) 1 October 2026 — current revision; advertising disclosures, scraping, and user-message handling clarified.
  • c) Next review — aligned with the editorial policy's 30 September 2027 cycle.
